1 Adventures of Scott and Ezra on Tue Jul 28, 2015 9:25 pm

Scott sighed as he looked at himself in the mirror. It was a Friday night, and for once he didn't have loads of homework. He and Ezra had decided on going out and trying to get him someone. That, and get his mind off of all the girls that seemed to think he was creepy and weird. he just looked at them because they were beautiful, but the moment that they opened their mouths to speak to him, the only thing that came out of his were either nothing or stuttering. He wasn't even going to begin to start on what he said when he stuttered. He would just say that that was the part when they girls ran away and told theirs friends about him. He walked down the stairs, and he glanced over at his mother who was standing in the kitchen and working on dinner. "I'm going out with Ezra. I'll be back by ten," he said. Riley smiled, and she kissed him on his cheek. "Okay. Be safe, and please don't do anything stupid. We don't need Ezra's father catching you," she said, and she looked over at Dominic. "How do I look? Good enough to get a girlfriend?" Scott asked his father.

Ezra had just finished getting ready and was heading out the door but his father stopped him in his tracks. "Where are you going son?" his father called from the couch. Ezra cursed under his breath and swiveled to look back at him. "Going to hang with Scott. I thought I told you earlier?" he said. His father was one to be strict; it was partially due to the fact that he was a cop. Still, it infuriated him nonetheless. He knew his parents just simply cared about him, since he was their only child. His father looked up from the television and sighed. "Go on. Don't get into any trouble. I may not be working tonight, but I can always get called in, and I don't need to hear any trouble from you," his dad stated. "Yeah, yeah. I know dad. Tell mom when she comes in," Ezra replied before bolting out the door. Dominic had his butt planted on the counter, smirking at him. "You need some shades. You have to look cool," he stated; it was his usual form of advice. Looking cool was half the battle. "But you look like me, so that should tell you something," he added with a smirk. Before he could say more, the doors burst open. "Hello my second family!" Ezra said. He was over often enough to annoy them. Well, maybe just Riley. Dominic hopped up to give him a high five. Ezra saw Dominic as more of a teenager than a father, which made him somewhat envious of Scott. His father wasn't nearly that cool.

Riley looked over at Dominic, and she rose a brow at his words. "Shades? Dominic, he is going to be inside. No reasonable young man wears shades inside," she said, rolling her eyes. She took a look over Scott and smiled. "You look perfect. Don't change. The girls will come running after you," she said, and she kissed his cheek. When the door opened, she groaned, already knowing who it was by his stupid, obnoxious voice. He might as well been her son. He probably sent more time at her house than his own. "I don't get hwy we don't just buy you a bed and put it in Scott's room. You come here often enough," she said, rolling her eyes. Scott smirked at his mother's reaction. "We are taking my car. I'll see you later. Bye Mom. Bye Dad!" he called before going out of the door with Ezra.

Dominic rolled his eyes and muttered, "You know, he didn't ask for your opinion." He stuck his tongue out at her childishly before he glanced over at Ezra. Ezra smirked slightly at that and said, "You know, good idea, Mrs. Kenway. I will have my stuff moved in by next week. I think we will have to work in the whole my dad situation. But I think it would be great." He knew the Kenways well enough to know that they were all full of sarcastic comments, and he just went along with it. As he followed Scott out the door, he mimicked him by saying, "Bye mom! Bye dad!" He waved once before getting into Scott's car. "Ready to impress some girls?"

Riley couldn't help but glare at him as he replied with a sarcastic comment of his own. "That boy is going to be the death of me, and he isn't even my own son!" she said with a sigh, and she started to continue making dinner. "I guess it's just us eating unless you want to invite anyone over," she said. Scott smirked, and he got in the driver's seat of his car. "Oh yeah, I'm ready. I'm going to get a girlfriend!" he said with a bright smile. Or at least he thought he was. He thought that he would do pretty well with flirting, but then again, the last time he flirted with a girl, he got slapped. He would have to think about what his father said before putting it into action next time.

Dominic chuckled and smirked slightly. "I don't even know what you are talking about. I like the kid!" he stated before he leaned against the counter. He arched a brow at Riley's next comment and rubbed his chin. "Well unless you want to invite your sister and Levi over...," he said, then trailed, shrugging. Ezra rolled his eyes at his comment and buckled up. "Yeah, right you are buddy," he agreed, although he didn't voice his opinion. If they got their hopes up, it would be even worse if it didn't end up working out. Ezra had always been the wingman for Scott. He was a pretty terrible wingman.

Riley smirked over at Dominic, and she rolled her eyes. "You like the kid because you never matured. You are still a teenager in an adult's body," she said, and she kissed him lightly. "But for some reason, I still love you," she said, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. Scott smiled down at Ezra before he started to pull out of his driveway. After driving for a little bit, he soon came to a little cafe. During the day, it was a nice and quiet place, but on Friday nights, it became like a bar for teenagers but without the alcohol. He parked the car and got out, looking at the money he had. "I should be good ot buy me and a girl a drink," he said.

Dominic chuckled and shrugged his shoulders as he kissed her back. "What's so bad about that?" he said with a smirk. He thought it was better to have a bit of fun instead of worrying about adult problems. Ezra unbuckled and half smirked at Scott's comment. "Good luck with that," he said as he hopped out of the car. He learned from experience that Scott became like jell-o around girls. So Ezra couldn't say much, since his luck was about as much as Scott's. But at least Ezra could talk the talk.

Riley laughed, and she rolled her eyes. "You need to grow up, Dominic. Not everything is a game, and I don' think it's very good for you to act like another teenager around Scott," she said, and she went back to cooking. "I'm doing all of the adult things myself," she said. Scott smirked, and he looked over at Ezra. "I'm ready to meet my new girlfriend," he said. he walked in, and he sat down at the bar beside a really pretty girl. He put his hand out for a shake. He made the mistake of leaning in though. "Hey. My name i-" he was cut off as his bar stool tipped over and he fell to the ground. "That was to get you to notice me," he lied, faking it as if he wasn't hurt. Did he play it off cool?

Dominic sat down on the counter once more. "Oh come on. Growing up isn't fun. Besides, I think Scott is proud of have such a cool dad like me," he stated, puffing out his chest and resting his hands behind his head. Ezra just rolled his eyes and walked into the cafe as well. He watched as he walked off to instantly head towards one girl. Well, this should be interesting. The girl arched a brow as Scott came over and had to hide a smirk when he fell. "Notice you, huh?" she inquired, crossing her arms over her chest. "Because that didn't look intentional," she said. Ezra came over then and clasped a hand on Scott's shoulder. "You see, my boy here has a bit of trouble hooking girls," he stated. Normally, he wouldn't throw Scott under the bus, but nothing else was seeming to work. "Is that so?" the girl inquired, turning her attention to Scott.

Riley sighed, and she closed her eyes. Yes, Scott was proud of him, but Riley left alone half the time. He was with Scott so much and she was either working or doing business. She sometimes felt like she only did the work too, and since she wasn't able to get a proper education because of the war, she did hard work. She just didn't want to say anything to Dominic since he seemed happy about Scott being proud of him. Scott managed a nod when the girl spoke to him. "Yeah. I mean, I thought it looked pretty intentional," he said, and he slowly got up. He could feel his face go bright red when he heard Ezra. "I thought we weren't supposed to tell the girls we are trying to flirt with my dilemma," he said, giving him a sharp look.

Dominic never meant to leave Riley with hard work. However, he loved being considered the cool dad. And responsibility had never been his forte anyway, and he knew nothing about being a parent. He had told Riley how he had felt about kids from the get go. The girl rolled her eyes and hid a small smirk. "Right," she replied. However, she knew that it was more than likely an accident. Ezra opened his mouth to defend himself but the girl beat him to it. "If you have a problem getting a girl, I could always help. Give you tips on what to say and what not to say. And what to do and...well not to do."

Riley looked up at Dominic, and she sighed. No matter how much she got mad at him for not doing work or not paying the taxes and leaving it to her, she still loved him somehow. "Dominic, I don't know what I would do without you," she said, and she hugged him. Scott was a bit shocked at the girl's reaction. She would help him? "Wait, you aren't pulling my leg or anything, right? You will actually help?" he asked her, and he smiled to himself. Maybe this would work out. He got back on the bar stood and put his elbow on the counter and his chin in his band. "Teach me your ways."

Dominic kissed the top of her head and sent a small smile her way. He hugged her tightly and sighed. "You know I love you, right?" he whispered softly to her. The girl rose a brow at his comment and crossed her arms lightly over her chest. "I wouldn't make a false offer," she replied. She nodded once and suppressed a smirk. "For starters, I think I would like to know your name," she commented. "Most girls don't want to hold a full conversation with a complete stranger," she continued with an eye roll. "Hey, I'm Tatum."

Riley smiled, and she hugged him back. "I know you love me," she said with a smile, and she gave Dominic a kiss. She soon finished cooking, and she began making the plates. "With Scott gone, maybe we can just have an us night. Like old times after the war," she said, and she looked into his eyes. Scott smiled when she said that she was being serious. This was the best thing that ever happened to him! He smiled at her name. It was a beautiful name. "I'm Scott Kenway," he said with a smile. "It's nice to meet you."

Dominic watched her cook quietly and looked up when Riley finished. "Uh, yeah, yeah. Whatever you want," he mumbled distractedly. One of the reasons he acted the way he did was because he was forced to grow up so quickly, and the fact that he was raised by Victor didn't help. Tatum cracked a small smile and said, "Nice to meet you too, Scott." She would have said more, but Ezra had reappeared. She hadn't even noticed he had left. His shirt now had a huge stain, and it clung to his skin. "See that girl over there," Ezra said, nodding to her. "She threw her drink on me...she so wants me," he said. "Gotta run!" he continued before he headed after whatever girl he was talking about. Tatum smirked and asked, "Do I need to help your friend next?"

Riley noticed how he seemed a bit distracted. She but her lip nervously as she made his plate and set it infront of his normal seat. "Are you okay Dom? You don't seem like it," she said before she made a plate of her own. Scott looked over when Erza came back, and he rose a brow. He wasn't even going to ask. He laughed a bit and looked back at Tatum. "You might just have to," he said with a laugh, and he shrugged. He bit his lip. "So what should I do first?"

Dominic stared at his plate for a moment but finally snapped out of it. "Yeah. I am fine," he mumbled, turning his attention to his food. The memories of the war and revolution were not ones he wanted to relive. Tatum laughed softly and shook her head, throwing a glance after Ezra. "Yeah, I think he needs it," she replied, sighing. She then clasped her hands together and said, "Introductions are half the battle. I suggest be yourself, and keep the conversation going. Most girls don't like guys who just act. And as for the falling off the stool...well some girls may find that cute and others may not. But I am assuming it wasn't intentional." She paused and then leaned forward slightly. "For the record, I would be one of the girls who finds it cute in an awkward way."

Riley looked at him, and she sighed to herself. "I'm sorry," she said quietly. Maybe it wasn't a good idea mentioning the war. It was bad enough that Scott had to learn about it in history, and sometimes she helped him with him homework. She closed her eyes and fixed herself a drink before eating, more so, picking at her food. Scott listened to her closely, and he nodded. So he needed to learn how to talk to girls. "Okay. So be myself. Wait, I'm the most awkward person I know besides Dimitri. What do I do?" he asked her quickly. What should he do? He was just weird, and his socials skills were nonexistent. He blushed when she spoke, and he looked down at the ground. "Really?"

Dominic just scooted the food around his plate, which he rarely did. "I think I am going to bed early tonight," he said finally, standing. The wars brought back bad memories and left him without much of an appetite. He kissed Riley's cheek before he grabbed his plate of uneaten food and placed it in the sink. He then headed up to their room. Tatum rose a brow and asked, "Dimitri? As in Dimitri Sherwood? President Sherwood?" She had never met someone who knew the president. "Sometimes being awkward isn't a bad thing. But the best thing to do is act like you are talking to an old friend. I don't think you are doing too bad right now," she said with a grin. She noticed when he blushed, but she suppressed the smirk. "Yes, really. So tell me about yourself. What are your hobbies?"

Riley simply gave him a small nod in response to his words. She felt horrible for doing that to him. It was all her fault. Sometimes she wondered if he even questioned why he ever married her. She knew that she would if she was in his place. She couldn't do anything right. She glanced down at the ground. She had been having nightmares again lately, but she was afraid to tell Dominic. She didn't want to pester him. Besides, it was just about the games. Maybe they could go away. Scott nodded at her question. "Yeah! He's like my second dad," he said with a small laugh, and he looked over at when she started to speak again, and he nodded. It sounded like a pretty good idea to him. "Okay. I'll try," he said with a small smile, and he looked down at her. When she asked about his hobbies, he paused for a moment. What kind of hobbies did he have? "I play football if that counts for anything," he said, and he thought for a moment.

Dominic sighed as he lied down in bed. The talk of the revolutions and the war was getting to him. He switched out the light and sighed. He was beginning to wonder if a job would do him some good. One that he would actually enjoy. Shaking his head, he turned on his side and attempted to go to sleep. Tatum half smiled at that and dropped her gaze to the ground. "I didn't think someone could be that close to the President," she whispered more to herself. She returned her attention once more to him as he answered her question. "Football, huh?" she inquired, arching a brow. "Do you actually like playing football?" she asked with a small smirk.

Riley decided not to bother Dominic. She cleaned everything up, and when she got tired, she lied down on the couch. Not even an hour into her sleep, she started having the nightmare again. They were more like flashbacks, but then it got worse. She remembered when she won the games. She saw herself stabbing the last person, but when she looked down at them, they were Dominic. She woke up screaming and thrashing. Scott nodded at her question, and he gave her a small smile. "Yeah, I like to play football," he said, and he thought of more things he liked to do. He liked almost anything that his father did. "Playing video games are fun."

Dominic didn't get much sleep. Instead, he had just stayed up drawing out the house he had planned on building years ago. He had always planned on going into architecture and design, but then Riley had gotten the news she was pregnant. Maybe he could actually go into what he had set out to do all along. When he heard the screaming, he pulled his reading glasses off and headed downstairs. He quickly ran to Riley and pulled her into a tight hug. "Hey, hey. Just a dream," he whispered. At least he had somewhat gotten better at the whole comforting thing. Tatum smiled lightly at that and listened as he continued. "My brothers used to play. I was always the odd one out. I played volleyball or surfed. While my brothers were on the field, I was at the beach. My dad used to call me 'Little Mermaid,'" she said with a laugh.

Riley looked at Dominic when he came down, and she breathed out a sigh of relief. She hugged him tightly and started to cry in his arms. "I'm so sorry. Everything is my fault," she said, shaking in his arms. She was terrified and sad. She wasn't sure what to do. Scott smiled as he listened to her. "Really? I have never really done those. I mean, I've been to the beach a few times. We can't really go that often though. Money sort of isn't in our favor," he said, and he thought about his parents. His mother worked so hard, and he only then realized how little she was thanked. He would need to find some way to make her happy. "What do girls like? Wait, scratch that. What do women like? Like what would you get your mom for Mother's Day?" he asked.
