{and now they finally get normal lives

Angel was in the office, getting her schedule. She had been shown around the school the day before, but she was really confused and nervous. It was her senior year and she was moving schools. Angel just wasn't a social butterfly like her mom was. She thanked the woman at the desk before she took her schedule and looked at the time. Oh great. She was going to have to walk in to the middle of her next class, and it just happened to be her least favorite subject. The dreaded math. She walked around the halls for a few minutes before she found the room, and she walked in. Of course, everyone was quiet and looking at her. The teacher smiled. "Class, welcome a new student, Mrs. Angel Blakley You may take the seat behind Mrs. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson, please raise you hand."

Drake was leaned back in his seat, staring at the board without much interest. He tossed the piece of paper with a note he wrote onto one of his best friends, Livia's, desk. Get me out of this hellhole, he had wrote. Seconds later, the note was then dropped once more on his desk. Stop being such a drama king, it read. He glanced at Livia, who stuck her tongue out at him. He returned it. When the door opened and someone else entered, her arched a brow. Livia smirked over at him; she knew him well enough to know when he was interested in a girl. She raised her hand as the teacher had asked.

Angel gave the girl a small smile, and she quickly sat down in the seat behind her, just trying to get all the eyes off of her. She was hoping that no one would talk to her, but sure enough, she heard a guy behind her speak. "Hey there. My name's Brandon. I love long walks on the beach and frisky women," he said when a smirk. Angel looked behind her and glared. "I'm not your type then," he said, and she looked back to the board. Well, this was going to be an interesting day. She cold feel the guy behind her poking her with his pencil. Was this how guys flirted? "Mr. Crawford, must we?" the teacher asked him with a pointed look. "Please don't harass the new students." Brandon sighed. "Yes ma'am," he said, and he looked over at Drake. "Have this one," he whispered. "Trust me, she's frisky, she's just in denial."

Drake watched as Angel made her way to her seat; he could almost feel Livia's smirk. He flushed and drew his attention to the board. Another note hit the desk. Oh, come on. You are the best flirt out there. Cheesy but the best. Don't go all shy because of one girl, it read. A minute later, a third note hit his desk. You aren't fooling me, kid. Grow a pair. He glanced up to see Livia wink at him. He rolled his eyes. He had vaguely heard the conversation; so when Brandon addressed him, he muttered quietly in response, "Frisky or not, she is pretty and seems sweet. So...be nice."

Brandon looked over at him when he spoke, and he rose a brow. "Someone is crushing bad," he said with a small smirk. It wasn't like Drake to be like that for a girl. Looks like he really wanted her. "Alright, fine. Just don't be shy. You are smooth, and you can flirt," he said, and sure enough, the bell rang. He smirked and got up before looking at Drake. "Go on, escort her to her next class," he said, and he gave him a pat on the back. "Go get 'em tiger!" he said with a smirk. "Oh yeah, you are coming home with me, right? Dustin wants you to teach him to play football."

Drake shook his head and elbowed him in the arm. "I can't call a girl pretty without being accused of liking her?" he asked, but he had to dip his head to hide his blush. He rolled his eyes at Brandon's next comment. "Yeah, yeah. Calm down. I am not shy," he stated. When the bell rang, he stood and threw his backpack over one arm. He leaned against the desk and listened to his question before nodding. "Yeah, sure. May as well. Don't have anything better to do, and the old man is giving me crap again," he muttered under his breath. He and his father always had a rocky relationship. He glanced at Angel and quickly said, "I will talk later." He went as casually as he could over to Angel's desk. "Hey, do you need some help finding your next class?"

Brandon smirked at his words, and he put his arm around him. "Drake Sherwood, how long have I known you? Too long probably, but I know you well enough that you like this girl," he said, and he gave him a pat on the back. "I'm sure you and Victor will get things together," he said. Victor didn't particularly like Brandon, but then again, he didn't like any of Drake's friends. Angel was in the middle of getting her things when she heard Drake. She gave him a shy smile and grabbed her schedule. "Oh, you don't have to," she said, and she looked down at her schedule nervously. She had no idea where her next class was. This was going to be a long day.

Drake instantly shook his head and said over his shoulder, "Doubt it." He hated his father with a burning passion. He treated his mother poorly, and he treated him and his sister just about the same. He turned to Angel when she replied and sent her a crooked smile. "Of course I don't have to, I want to," he stated, reaching out and taking her schedule. "Your next class is just across from mine," he stated as he handed the schedule back to her. "Come on, I will show you the way," he added on, leading the way out the door. He checked over his shoulder to be sure she was following before he slowed to match her pace.

Brandon shrugged, and he smiled. "Make sure she sits with us at lunch," he said before he went on to his next class. Angel smiled lightly. This guy was sure different than the last one. "Thanks," she said before she quickly grabbed her things and raced after him. She didn't even really see what class she had next. Chemistry. Well, at least it was something that she understood as was fairly good at. She soon came to her classroom, and she gave him a small smile. "Thank you so much. I don't think I got your name," she said. She could tell that he was friends with that Brandon guy, but she wasn't going to say anything about that. Maybe he really was a nice guy.

"Don't mention it," he told her with a slight smile. Once Drake stopped at her class, he was about to wave and say goodbye, when she spoke. "Oh, I am Drake. Drake Sherwood," he told her, holding out a hand for her to shake. He thought back to what Brandon said before he asked her, "Would you like to sit with us at lunch since you are new and all?" he asked, then quickly added, "Feel free to say no. You don't have to." He was never this nervous around girls. It was a new one for him. He went for his winning smile to try to ease back his nervousness. He had this. He wasn't Drake Sherwood for no reason.

Angel would have to make sure that she remembered his name. It couldn't be that hard. Drake was the nice one with they pretty face and Brandon was the pretty creepy one with maybe an okay face. When he offered for her to sit with them, she smiled. "Um, sure. Why not. It's not like I have anywhere else to sit. Maybe it won't be so awkward," she said with a laugh. She knew that she was probably blushing, so she looked at the ground. "Thanks again," she said before she quickly went into class. Maybe that wasn't too bad. She took a random seat, but not before long, someone was standing over her. "You may have a pretty face, but that's my seat, honey. Move," a guy said bitterly. Luckily or unluckily, Brandon was in the class with her. "Leave her alone, Zach. She's new," he said, and he narrowed his eyes. He never did like Zach. "Here, sit with me. My buddy is sick so you can be my lab partner," he said, and Angel walked over and sat beside him. Maybe he wouldn't be too bad.

Drake chuckled at her comment and shook his head. "I won't let that happen," he assured her. "No problem!" he called to her once he was thanked again; he turned and went into his own classroom, taking his seat like he normally would. But unlike normal, he was thinking about Angel. Livia glanced up when she noticed Angel walk into the class. She planned on helping Drake as much as she could. She had never seen him like a girl this much. Of course, Zach had to go and be the jerk he is. Once Angel sat down by Brandon, she leaned over since her lab station was right beside theirs and said, "Don't mind him. He is just a jerk. Hi, I am Livia," she greeted.

Angel had put most of her stuff under the lab table since she hadn't been assigned a locker yet. "I figured," she said, commenting on Zach. With a small smile, she shook her hand. "I'm Angel, but I guess you already know that," she said, and she looked up when the teacher came in. "Hello class. Today we have a new student with us. Sadly, I thinks she picked the worst spot in the room," he said, and he glared at Brandon. "Love you too, Mr. Rogers!" he said, giving him a thumbs up. The teacher rolled his eyes. "Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself Mrs. Blakley," he said, and he sat down at his desk. Oh how Angel hated this. She wasn't one to speak up in class. "I'm Angel Blakley, and I recently moved here from Chicago," she said before sitting down. She gave Brandon a look. "None of the teachers seem to like you," she said, and Brandon smirked. "It's a long story, Blakley."

Livia arched a brow as Angel introduced herself; it was short and sweet, that was for sure. "Chicago," she repeated. "Is it nice?" she asked as she pulled her hair back into a ponytail. As she listened to her and Brandon talk, she laughed and shook her head. "Most people don't like him either...no offence, Brandon," she said teasingly, sending him a smirk before she took her seat. "And besides, do you think he would be the best of friends with the teachers?" she commented, shaking her head to hide a smile. "Again, no offence," she stated in between a laugh.

Angel nodded, and she thought about back at home for a moment. "Yeah, it's nice, but I don't miss it. There were always too any people for my liking," she said, and she went back to focusing on the class, but that didn't last long. She laughed as quietly as she could when she heard Livia. "Yeah, you do make a really good point," she said, and she looked up at Brandon who was rolling his eyes. "You are just jealous," he said.

Livia nodded at her comment and murmured, "I see where you are coming from." It still sounded great either way, but different people had different tastes. She half listened to the lesson and smirked slightly at Brandon's comment. "Puh-lease," she said, shaking her head. "Not a chance," she added on before starting to take quick notes. The bell soon rang, and she hopped up from her seat. "All right, it is time for lunch," she said with a grin before she darted out the room. Drake met her outside the classroom and rolled his eyes. "You seem gid-" he began. But then Livia placed her hands on his shoulders and said, "So, you have to ask her out. On a date."

Brandon smirked, and he shook his head. "I know you are. You are so jealous of my zero streak," he said, and he took down a few notes before the bell rung. "Food! Finally!" he said, and he grabbed his things, quickly getting out of the room. Angel was about to follow him out, but then she was tripping. She ended up dropping all of her things, and she looked at the round, her face red in embarrassment. Zach smirked as he watched her. "Watch where you are going next time," he said, and he knelt down beside her. "Stay out of my way," he said before he grabbed the pack of pencils she dropped. "Thanks for the gift, sweet cheeks," he said. Angel sighed and began to pick up her things.

"Now," Livia began and then glanced over her shoulder and back into the classroom where Angel had dropped her things. "Go be the sweet guy I know you are and help her," she stated pushing him into the room before he could protest. She left him stranded by the door. Grumbling under his breath, Drake let out a frustrated sigh before he stepped into the room and crouched down so he could help her. He handed Angel one of her books. "Everything okay?" he asked.

Angel looked up when Drake came by, and she nodded. "Yeah, everything is okay. I just sat in the wrong seat and apparently some guy thinks he is a dog and got all territorial about it," she said with an eye roll, and she soon had all of he things. "Thank you, again," she said and added a small laugh. "I have a feeling I will be saying that a lot today." He just seemed to come right when she needed him to. She stood up and brushed off her pants. "So, lunch is next, right? That is the first thing Brandon said when the bell rang," she said, laughing a bit. Brandon sure was odd. He was a nice guy though.

Drake stood after she had everything and shifted his backpack on his back. "You don't have to thank me," he said with a small smile. So far, he liked this girl. She seemed just as sweet as he thought. "Yeah," he replied, nodding once at her question. "The guy likes food," he added with a chuckle before he headed towards the door. "Come on, I will show you the way," he offered once more. She was going to sit with them anyway, so he may as well show her where they sat at.

Angel gave him an odd look. "Don't have to thank you? I don't know how it is run here, but at my house, we always say please and thank you," she said with a smile, and she followed him into the lunch room. She saw Livia at the table, but she could only guess that Brandon was already in line. "He couldn't even wait for us," she said with a small laugh. She sat down, and she looked up at Drake. "I'll get my food when he comes back. So, tell me about yourself."

Drake chuckled and just shook his head in response. Were people not just nice where she was from? He sat down in his regular seat and arched a brow before he answered. "Well," he began, "I am on the football team, and....." He trailed and looked to Livia for help. Livia had to try her best not to roll her eyes. "I will be back in a minute," she told them before moving towards the lunch line. "Thanks, Livvy! You are the best!" Drake called after her. He then glanced to Angel before he offered her a half smile. "As stupid as it sounds, I never really wanted to start football, but my father pushed me to do it," he muttered. That was one thing he hated about his father. He was so pushy. "But then I started to like it, I guess. There isn't much to tell, except that I have lived here most of my life. I have a younger sister....What about you?" he asked with a half smile.

Angel listened to hi, but she wondered why he was so nervous? It only seemed to be around her too. Was it because she was new? Or was it because of something else? She shook the thought away before going back to listening to him. "What position do you play?" she asked. She wanted to warm up to him so he wasn't so nervous around her. She smiled when he added that he had a little sister. "I do too. Her name's Hannah. She goes here too actually," she said. When he asked about her, she paused to think for a moment. "What is there to tell? I am from Chicago, but I wasn't born there. I was born in Georgia, and then we moved for my dad's job when I was probably five. We moved again here for my dad's job. He loves it here though. Small town like what I was born in. I guess you could say I have good grades. I don't really play any sports," she looked down shyly wondering if she should add the last part. "Unless you count cheerleading. My mom pushed me into that too."

"Quarterback," Drake informed her, chuckling as he thought it over. It was ironic, really, that the one thing that he seemed to like about school was caused by his father, who he hated with a burning passion. It was weird how things worked out. As she talked about herself, he nodded and cracked a smile. "I always wanted to move around," he said, thoughtfully. To him, it grew boring being in the same place for so long. But at the end of the day, it was home. "You were a cheerleader?" he asked curiously, bringing his attention back to her.
